A late penalty from Nolan Roux has earned a point for Saint-Etienne in their Europa League opener against Rosenborg.
Les Verts took an early lead at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard after Roux ran on to a through-ball before squaring a cross to the waiting Robert Beric at the back post, and the Slovenian forward duly slotted past Andre Hansen.
However, Rosenborg got back on level terms after 16 minutes when Tobias Mikkelsen sprung the offside trap by latching on to a through-ball before beating keeper Stephane Ruffier.
Roux had two opportunities to restore the home side's lead before half time, but the number nine was denied by Hansen on both occasions.
Instead, it was the Norwegians who almost edged ahead with 25 minutes left as Anders Konradsen fashioned space to shoot, only to drag his effort wide.
The Trondheim club then took the lead with 11 minutes left as defender Jonas Svensson scored from close range after Les Verts failed to deal with a free kick into the area.
However, the hosts were awarded a late penalty for Holmar Eyjolfsson's push on Beric. Roux duly stepped up and beat Hansen to rescue a point.
