The MLS Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew were held to a 1-1 draw by San Jose Earthquakes this evening.
Federico Higuain started brightly for the hosts and sent a long-range shot goalwards in the 10th minute which Jon Busch did well to hold.
Steve Clark then made two saves from Chris Wondolowski as the home side began to threaten.
However, Higuain netted just a minute before the break to put the vistors 1-0 up.
Substitute Yannick Djalo came within inches of drawing the Quakes level with his first touch of the game, but his chip came back off the post.
However, the home side were level just six minutes into the second half when Wondolowski nodded home from a corner.
Hector Jiminez nearly put his side back ahead shortly after, but his effort rolled just wide of the post and Dominic Oduro also came within whiskers of restoring Columbus Crew's lead, but the Crew had to settle for a point.
