The San Jose Earthquakes have comfortably overcome the Seattle Sounders at the CenturyLink Field, thanks to goals from Sanna Nyassi and Perez Garcia.
Nyassi broke the game's deadlock in style, as he controlled a wayward pass with an outstretched leg and then hit a fierce strike across the face of the keeper to give San Jose the lead.
The Quakes remained in control after scoring and searched for their second but failed to create any meaningful chances.
Garcia doubled the lead in superb fashion, dribbling between a number of Sounders defenders on the edge of the box before rifling home a left-footed shot into the top corner.
Sounders had the ball in the back of the net in stoppage time but the goal was ruled out for offside.
