SBV Excelsior claimed their first win in the Eredivisie this season by earning a 3-0 victory over De Graafschap this evening.
Nigel Hasselbaink threatened early on for the hosts, but his effort flashed well wide of the target, before Adil Auassar fired a strike over the bar.
It was the visitors who almost opened the scoring on the stroke of half time when Alexander Bannink headed Nathaniel Will's cross wide of the post.
Within three minutes of the second half Excelsior broke the deadlock as Sander Fischer rose highest to head in from Auassar's free kick.
The hosts extended their lead in the 63rd minute when Brandley Kuwas cut inside from the right and fired a powerful strike past Hidde Jurjus and into the roof of the net.
Daryl van Mieghem then added a third goal in the closing stages to wrap up the points and ensure a much-needed win for Excelsior.
