Seattle Sounders have extended their lead at the top of the Western Conference courtesy of a resounding 4-0 victory over second-placed Real Salt Lake.
Gonzalo Pineda fired the hosts ahead shortly before half time when he successfully converted from the spot into the top corner of the net.
Seattle had some breathing space 10 minutes into the second half thanks to Marco Pappa's fine free kick, before Chad Barrett made it three to seal the points.
Obafemi Martins rounded off the scoring late on when he tapped the ball home from close range to inflict a first league defeat of the season on Salt Lake, who are now five points behind the Rave Green in the league table.
