The rapid decline of the Seattle Sounders continued against FC Dallas this evening as Sigi Schmid's men fell to their fourth straight defeat in the MLS.
Second-half goals from Matt Hedges and Michel means that they are now without a win in six games and trail Western Conference leaders Portland Timbers by two points, having played one game more.
Meanwhile, sixth-placed San Jose Earthquakes are four points behind with a game in hand and breathing down their necks for a MLS playoff spot with just one fixture left in their season.
Michel was the creator for Hedges to open the scoring with his head in the 65th minute, before killing any hopes the Sounders had of taking something from the game with an 87th-minute strike.
The result keeps their faint hopes of reaching the playoffs alive, as they now trail the Colorado Rapids by four points, although Oscar Pareja's side are at home to Vancouver Whitecaps later on tonight.
