The Seattle Sounders have extended their lead at the top of the MLS Western Conference courtesy of a 3-0 win over Dallas.
The home side threatened first as they won a free kick on the edge of the box and Clint Dempsey curled an effort towards goal, but his strike went just wide of the target.
Dallas came close to an opener when Fabian Castillo picked up the ball and raced towards goal. He unleashed a powerful strike from 25 yards, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
The visitors had another opportunity just before the break as Castillo found Mauro Diaz in the box, but the forward lifted his effort over the bar.
In the second half, Seattle took the lead as a loose ball fell into the path of Lamar Neagle on the edge of the box and he drilled his strike past Dan Kennedy.
Dallas almost hit back when Castillo raced onto a through ball, but Stefan Frei raced off his line to make a crucial block and keep his side ahead.
The Sounders doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute as Andy Rose found the run of Obafemi Martins in the box, and the striker held his composure to bury the ball into the back of the net.
The home side secured their victory in the dying second as Neagle laid the ball into the path of Leonardo Gonzalez, who smashed the ball past Kennedy.
