Nigel Clough has said that it is a "great achievement" for Sheffield United to reach the last eight at the League Cup after coming from behind to beat MK Dons this evening.
The Blades trailed their League One rivals heading into the final five minutes at Stadium MK, but Michael Higdon scored twice in the final minutes to send the visitors through.
The manager told BBC Radio 5 live: "It was a thrilling way to win a League Cup tie. We fought back well late on and hopefully this can give us momentum in the league.
"To get through to this stage as a League One club is a great achievement. It's great for the competition."
The club reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup last season, before being knocked out by Hull City at Wembley.
