New Sheffield United signing Michael Higdon has claimed that his time spent playing in the Netherlands was a "good experience" for his career.
The 30-year-old striker joined the Blades on Monday following a one-season spell with Eredivisie side NEC.
Higdon scored 14 goals in 32 games during the 2013-14 campaign, though he was unable to stop NEC from being relegated.
"It was a good experience with different styles of football and formations and I was going to bigger stadiums with really passionate fans," he told Sky Sports News.
"So it was a good experience for me, but I'm really excited but the challenge ahead, especially playing at Bramall Lane where the supporters are fantastic."
Higdon's previous clubs include Crewe Alexandra, Falkirk, St Mirren and Motherwell.
