Sheffield United have reportedly upped their efforts to sign Ipswich Town forward Martyn Waghorn.
The Blades announced on Thursday that they had broken their club transfer record to sign John Egan from Brentford, and it appears that the Yorkshire outfit are ready to do the same in order to boost their forward line.
According to the Daily Star, Sheffield United have made an offer of £5m for Waghorn, with the attacker having netted 16 goals at the second tier last season.
United have money to spend after the £12m sale of David Brooks to Bournemouth, and it appears that every effort is going to be made to bring Waghorn to Bramall Lane.
Waghorn only has one year remaining on his existing deal at Portman Road, and the Tractor Boys must decide whether to offer the 28-year-old a new contract or cash in on the frontman.
