Blackburn Rovers have raced into a 3-1 lead in their Championship encounter with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
Jordan Rhodes put the away side ahead after a quarter of an hour when he pounced to tap home from Tommy Spurr's mishit shot.
Wednesday almost hit back immediately through Michail Antonio, but the winger was denied by a sprawling Paul Robinson save.
Rhodes showed his predatory instincts once more in the 24th minute when Chris Kirkland spilled Tom Cairney's cross, but the Scotland international couldn't turn the ball home for a second time.
Robinson then denied Antonio once more, but from the resulting corner Lewis Buxton drew Wednesday level.
However, the home side were level for just six minutes, as Craig Conway collected a long ball and fired a 25-yard shot beyond Kirkland.
Two minutes before the break, Michael Keane extended Blackburn's lead to two goals with a simple header from close range.
