Ipswich Town are level with Sheffield Wednesday at half time courtesy of Freddie Sears's goal.
Wednesday almost took the lead after just four minutes when new striker Marco Matias cut inside his man and hit the post with a low shot.
Ipswich also went close in the early stages as striker Daryl Murphy's near-post header was saved low down by goalkeeper Kieran Westwood.
Murphy forced Westwood into another save minutes later, as he turned inside his marker and curled a shot towards the bottom corner from 20 yards, which the keeper palmed away.
Despite Ipswich's early pressure, Wednesday took the lead as Ross Wallace smashed the ball in from close range after Matias found him with a low cross.
However, Ipswich hit back straight away as Sears ran through on goal and neatly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Sears almost gave the Tractor Boys a half-time lead as he raced through on goal, but his deflected shot was saved by Westwood.
