Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has confirmed that he is interested in signing Newcastle United's Sammy Ameobi this summer.
The 22-year-old has one year remaining on his existing deal at St James' Park, and Gray describes the winger as a "quality player".
"We have spoken to Sammy's agent," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "He is a quality player and he has shown that by playing in the Premier League."
The Owls could face stiff competition in the form of Middlesbrough, however, as it was reported on Wednesday that the North-East club are also keen on Ameobi.
