Shrewsbury Town caretaker manager Mike Jackson has praised his team's performance in today's 0-0 draw against Port Vale at the Greenhous Meadow.
In a game of few chances, the Shrews missed the chance to edge away from the League One relegation zone, as the sides ended up sharing the spoils.
Jackson told reporters: "It was a point but with the chances and good opportunities that we had in their box we might have just edged it.
"I wouldn't say we dominated it but it was a better performance that had a little bit of grit and spirit about it.
"That was the pleasing thing about, as was the clean sheet but we could have done better with some crosses and some of our set plays."
Shrewsbury currently occupy 23rd place in League One and are three points from safety.
