Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon has hailed his side after their League Cup first-round victory over Championship side Blackburn Rovers, calling their display "a complete performance".
Goals from James Collins and Tyrone Barnett secured a shock 2-1 victory for the League One side at Ewood Park to give the Shrews the chance of facing Premier League opposition in round two.
Mellon was thrilled with his side's showing and believes that the victory will give them confidence after they lost their opening game of the League One season at the weekend.
"It was a complete performance," Mellon told BBC Sport."It wasn't a smash-and-grab and the lads will take enormous credit and confidence from it.
"To come to a big place like Blackburn and get a result is very satisfying, the players can be very proud. That result will make the confidence flow through the team."
Shrewsbury travel to Bradford City for their second League One game of the season on Saturday.
