Southampton defender Dejan Lovren has revealed that the team always believed they could take something from their trip to Manchester United.
Despite going 1-0 behind to Robin van Persie's goal, the Saints fought back and equalised through Adam Lallana's 89th-minute strike to grab a 1-1 draw.
"We were believing to take points. We weren't just here to play the game and lose," Lovren told the Daily Echo.
"We believe in ourselves, and we have the quality and we have the character, and we were showing that in the second half. I think we deserved the point."
Southampton are now sixth in the Premier League.
