Sporting Kansas City have clinched the MLS Eastern Conference championship by coming from a goal down to beat Houston Dynamo 2-1 at Sporting Park.
The two teams had played out a goalless first leg at BBVA Compass Stadium earlier in the month.
Oscar Boniek Garcia put the visitors ahead in the third minute finishing a knockdown from Brad Davis.
However, CJ Sapong drew the home side level before the quarter-hour mark, slotting right-footed from inside the box.
The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute when Benny Feilhaber supplied Dom Dwyer to shoot low beyond goalkeeper Tally Hall.
Sporting will compete for a second MLS Cup in December, with their only previous success coming back in 2000, while the Dynamo's quest for a third title goes on.
