Italy international Alberto Aquilani has completed a move to Sporting Lisbon.
The 31-year-old has joined the Portuguese club on a free transfer after leaving Fiorentina earlier this summer.
He had spent three years with the Viola, helping the club to finish fourth in each of his seasons in Florence.
The midfielder started his career at Roma, before joining Liverpool for £20m in August 2009, but he went on to make only nine Premier League appearances for the Reds and was sent out on loan to Juventus and AC Milan.
Aquilani has won 38 caps for Italy and was part of his country's squad for last summer's World Cup.
