Christian Eriksen: 'Tottenham Hotspur have matured'

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen says that his side have "matured" since last season's Champions League campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen has insisted that the club are in a much better position to compete effectively in the Champions League this season.

Mauricio Pochettino's side failed to advance from the group stages last term, having lost two of their three home games at Wembley, and have a tough ask this year after being drawn in the same group as Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

"We are in a different situation and we have matured as a team a bit," Eriksen told the Spurs website. "We know what it was like last year, so we know what to change and keep the same. I don't think football-wise or tactical-wise there will be many changes, I think it is about mentally being where we are now.

"Everyone is really motivated to show the world that we are a bit better than we were last season. They are big opponents, so there is no better place to test yourself than in the Champions League and against them. We will see how far developed we are as a team.

"We have a big task ahead of us. The Champions League is only about big games, so we want to have a big opponent. There will be some fun games I think."

Spurs' Champions League campaign begins tomorrow night when they welcome Dortmund to Wembley.
