Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has said that "it is not possible to understand" why he has spent so much time on the substitutes' bench this season.
When Richarlison left Everton to sign for the North Londoners in a £60m deal last summer, it was expected that he would be provided with regular game time.
However, the 25-year-old has been restricted to just 12 starts and 13 substitute outings in all competitions, scoring just two goals which came in the same Champions League fixture.
By comparison, Richarlison netted three times in four starts for Brazil at the World Cup, but he has not found the back of the net for Spurs since September.
His latest substitute outing came on Wednesday night as Spurs were eliminated from the Champions League at the last-16 stage to AC Milan.
While Richarlison was provided with the final 20 minutes of the goalless draw in England's capital, his frustration over the exit and his playing time boiled over after the match.
Speaking in an interview with TNT Sports Brazil, Richarlison admitted that he had expected to be given more time on the pitch in the short and long term since joining the club.
Richarlison said: "It was going well, in a good sequence, two wins against West Ham and Chelsea. Suddenly, he put me on the bench, against Wolverhampton he put me on for five minutes. I asked why, but they didn't tell me anything.
"And, yesterday, they asked me to take a test at the gym, that if I was good I would go to the game and, at the time of the game, they left me on the bench. These are things that it is not possible to understand.
"Let's see what he will say tomorrow, but there are no fools here either, I'm a professional, I work every day and I want to play.
The striker also added: "This season, excuse the word, it's been s*** because I don't have minutes, I suffered a little with the injury. But, when I enter the field, I give my life. I came from two games well, I think that's it, I think I should have played and I don't have to cry about it."
Spurs have failed to score in their last three matches, losing 1-0 to Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers before the stalemate with Milan.
Richarlison will hope to be recalled when Spurs, who hold a three-point lead in the race for fourth position in the Premier League table, play host to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon. body check tags ::
