Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has admitted that he was disappointed with his side's performance against Inter Milan but is pleased the club managed to advance to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Spurs fell to a 4-1 defeat at the San Siro but progressed to the last eight of the competition thanks to an away goal from Emmanuel Adebayor.
Defoe told UEFA.com: "We tried to stop them getting an early goal but we still tried to just win the game, like normal.
"But they got the goals and made it difficult for us, they put us under a lot of pressure. We are disappointed with the performance but it's good we are through."
The draw for the quarter-finals of the Europa League will be made later today.
