Brad Friedel has said that keeping a clean sheet against Inter Milan last night was "vitally important" for Tottenham Hotspur.
Goals from Gareth Bale, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen ensured that Spurs took a 3-0 lead into the second leg of their Europa League tie against the Italian side.
The goalkeeper told Tottenham's website: "Keeping a clean sheet at home is vitally important and a third goal was vitally important as well, going to the San Siro at 2-0 and they are still very much in the tie.
"I thought we were outstanding from the off, we put them under pressure, we made them make mistakes when they were in possession and in the first half particularly, we were clinical in front of goal.
"I think if we'd been offered 3-0 against Inter Milan before the game we would have all taken it. We're pleased so far but we're only halfway there. We'll go out there with the attitude of scoring again and if we get that decisive away goal then it will be a mountain to climb for them."
The sides will meet again at the San Siro next Thursday.
