Mousa Dembele has said that he is "very happy" that Tottenham Hotspur have signed Moussa Sissoko, despite the fact that the Belgian's own position could now be under threat.
Dembele was a key player in Tottenham's Premier League title challenge last season, but has not yet featured this term due to a suspension that was carried over from the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
The capital outfit paid Newcastle United £30m to sign Sissoko on transfer deadline day, and Dembele has welcomed the competition that the "very good player" will bring to the Spurs midfield.
"I am very happy. I think he is a very good player. He is going to be great for our team," Dembele told Sky Sports News.
Dembele is currently on international duty with Belgium and was a second-half substitute in their 2-0 defeat to Spain in Brussels on Thursday night.
