Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane broke one Premier League record and equalled two more in the Lilywhites' 4-1 final-day win at Leeds United.

The England captain left Elland Road with another two top-flight strikes to his name, having finished clinically into the top corner inside the opening two minutes at Elland Road.

Following further efforts from Pedro Porro and Jack Harrison, Kane restored Tottenham's two-goal lead with a fine strike into the bottom corner, bringing up 30 Premier League goals for the season in the process.

Lucas Moura also got in on the act in his farewell appearance for the Lilywhites, who relegated Leeds to the Championship with that dominant success, ending a nine-game winless run on the road stretching back to January.

Tottenham's efforts on the day were not enough for Europa Conference League qualification, but Kane - who has been a shining light in a below-par season for the North London club - continued to make history.

By notching a brace at Elland Road, Kane set a new record for the most Premier League final-day goals, having reached double figures in the category with 10 strikes to his name.

The 29-year-old has overtaken Andy Cole and Les Ferdinand to top the rankings, with his predecessors both bagging nine Premier League final-day goals during their prolific careers.

Another feat of Cole's was matched by Kane at Elland Road, as the Tottenham man ended the season having scored in 26 of his 38 Premier League games, equalling Cole's long-standing record from 1993-94.

Kane had already surpassed Liverpool's Mohamed Salah for the most games scored in during a 38-match campaign, while Cole's record in the 1993-94 season was achieved in 42 matches.

Finally, Kane equalled an away goalscoring record set by Kevin Phillips, making the net ripple 16 times on rival turf in the 2022-23 Premier League season, level with his compatriot's achievement in the 1999-2000 season.

Now leading the all-time goalscoring charts for both club and country, Kane also sits second in the all-time Premier League goalscoring column on 213, having overtaken Wayne Rooney's 208 with his header against Crystal Palace earlier this month.

The England skipper is 47 adrift of Alan Shearer's all-time record of 260, but his 30 strikes were not enough to clinch the Golden Boot over Erling Braut Haaland's astonishing 36-goal haul.

Furthermore, Kane will turn 30 this summer without having won a single major trophy at club level, as Spurs ended the campaign without silverware for the 15th year running.

The striker's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium only runs until 2024, and all of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to battle for his signature this summer.

Tottenham are still hopeful of agreeing a new contract with Kane, but Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy is currently focusing on his search for a new head coach and new sporting director. body check tags ::
