England manager Gareth Southgate has backed Harry Kane to return to form "very quickly" under new Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte.
The Three Lions captain has struggled for performances in the Premier League this term and only has one goal and one assist to boast from 10 top-flight outings so far.
Kane has also failed to find the back of the net in Conte's first two games in charge, but Southgate is confident that the 28-year-old will find his shooting boots again soon.
Southgate told reporters: "Now there's a change of manager, I think there's a fresh start for him. I think that will be a good stimulus. I'm sure the whole thing has been an experience that has been difficult.
"He's ended up, understandably, with an adverse reaction from some of the fans there. He's had to deal with a lot of unintentional consequences of the possible move in the summer.
"Antonio coming in is probably a good thing from Harry's personal point of view. Knowing Antonio as I do, an outstanding coach and a very good man, I'm sure he'll get a response and a reaction out of Harry very quickly."
Kane has bagged six goals in the Conference League and EFL Cup amid his Premier League struggles, and he has supposedly performed a U-turn over his Spurs future following Conte's arrival. body check tags ::
