Tottenham Hotspur have moved into fourth spot in the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
It was the home side who started the match the stronger and they might have led within a minute when Luka Modric found Aaron Lennon at the back post, but somehow the England man missed from close range.
Harry Redknapp's side continued their lively start when Sandro drove into the box after five minutes, but Rovers defender Scott Dann made the block.
Spurs continued to attack, however, and Sandro smashed the crossbar with a wonderful effort after just nine minutes in the match.
The home side continued to dominate as the half developed, with Rovers struggling to carve out any real chances of their own.
Rafael Van der Vaart eventually handed Spurs the lead after 22 minutes when he converted from close range.
Spurs continued to dominate as the half approached its latter stages, and William Gallas struck the crossbar late on, with Blackburn failing to test Brad Friedel between the sticks.
Tottenham started the second period much as they finished the first, and Lennon might have done better with an effort after 47 minutes.
Blackburn's lack of invention was apparent as the half developed, with Spurs allowed time and space to dicate the tempo of the encounter.
Chances remained few and far between, however, with a Modric strike just before the hour mark whistling past Paul Robinson's goal.
It remained ever so easy for Spurs as the half developed, and they added a sensational second after 75 minutes when Kyle Walker found the top corner from a free kick.
Blackburn continued to offer little in the latter stages - and couldn't register a single effort at goal - with the result leaving them in 19th spot in the table.
