Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

:Headline: Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Sports Mole

A true test of Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League credentials awaits them at St James' Park on Sunday, as Newcastle United host the North London club in the Premier League.

Cristian Stellini's side suffered a gut-wrenching 3-2 loss to Bournemouth in front of their own fans last weekend, as Dango Ouattara struck the game's fifth and final goal with seconds remaining.

Failure to glean maximum points against the Cherries leaves Spurs in fifth place in the table - one spot and three points worse off than the Magpies, who also boast a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Newcastle, who were humbled in a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa last time out.

Clement Lenglet

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Newcastle)

Barcelona loanee Clement Lenglet was forced off with a muscular concern in the first half of last weekend's loss to Bournemouth, but Stellini is hopeful that the Frenchman will be in contention to feature if he can train fully on Saturday.

Emerson Royal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: May 13 (vs. Aston Villa)

Emerson Royal is recuperating from knee surgery after sustaining a severe injury during the most recent international break, but the right-back is on course to return before the end of the campaign.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

In contrast, Rodrigo Bentancur will not return from his own knee operation before the end of the campaign, having picked up a worrying ACL injury in February's defeat to Leicester City.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Manchester United)

The luckless Ryan Sessegnon is yet to fully recover from a hamstring issue, but there is hope that the ex-Fulham starlet will be back at Stellini's disposal for next weekend's battle with Manchester United.

Yves Bissouma

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Yves Bissouma continues to rehabilitate from an operation to repair a stress fracture in his ankle, and there is currently no indication as to when the Mali midfielder will be back in action.

Ben Davies

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 23 (vs. Newcastle United)

Ben Davies has been missing for over a month with the hamstring problem that prematurely ended his match against Southampton in March, but the Welshman might have an outside chance of returning for Sunday's game.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Lucas Moura

Status: Out
Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Manchester United)

Lucas Moura was handed a three-match ban for his straight red card on Everton's Michael Keane earlier this month, and he will serve the third and final game of his suspension at St James' Park. body check tags ::
