Real Madrid have moved a step closer to finalising a move for long-term transfer target Luka Modric after agreeing a £30m deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Croatian midfielder has made no secret of his desire to leave Spurs following their failure to secure qualification for Champions League football next season.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy had insisted that the 26-year-old would not be allowed to leave for less than his £40m asking price.
However, it now seems the two clubs have agreed a fee for Modric, with £25m to be paid up front and a further £5m included in add-ons, according to BBC Sport.
Modric will reportedly fly to Madrid today for discussions over personal terms and a medical, with the transfer poised to be completed within the next 48 hours.
