Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that a decision will be made on Emmanuel Adebayor's future in due course.
The Togolese forward was granted compassionate leave on Thursday to return to his homeland to repair issues with his family.
In numerous Facebook posts, Adebayor opened up about how relationships with his mother, brothers and sisters have broken down over the years, and that the turmoil has led to the striker contemplating suicide.
"This is a private life," Sky Sports News quotes Pochettino as saying. "I spoke with him earlier in the week, it is difficult for him and for that of course we let him go to Togo and fix his problems with his family."
When asked about Adebayor's future at White Hart Lane, Pochettino said: "This is a different problem - one problem is his private life, the other is the sports side and always we need to take a decision for the future of the club, but there is no decision yet."
Adebayor has dropped out of first-team contention over the last few months.
