Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes is reportedly weighing up a bid for Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster as an alternative to Robert Green.
England number two Green is available on a free transfer following his release from West Ham United.
However, it is believed that Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to sign the 32-year-old as Harry Redknapp searches for competition for Brad Friedel.
Hughes has therefore been forced to look elsewhere and has apparently identified Forster as his potential first-choice stopper at Loftus Road.
Current number one Paddy Kenny has been linked with a move away, with Ipswich Town supposedly preparing an offer.
Out-of-favour Spurs stopper Heurilio Gomes has also been mooted as a possible replacement for Kenny, who seems likely to depart the Hoops this summer.
