Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is keen on taking Christopher Samba to Tottenham Hotspur this month.
The Spurs boss is said to be keen on bolstering his defensive options as concerns grow about the long-term fitness of Ledley King and William Gallas.
Queens Park Rangers recently had a bid for the 27-year-old turned down by Blackburn Rovers, but it now appears that Spurs are about to test Rovers' resolve.
"I like Samba, he is a good player," Redknapp told a press conference. "I wouldn't want to say it's an impossibility.
"At the moment he belongs to Blackburn but he's a good player."
Samba joined Rovers in 2007 from German club Hertha Berlin.
