Stoke City played host to Swansea City in the Premier League this evening with both sides looking for the win that would help propel them towards mid-table.
The Potters took the lead in the first half through former England striker Peter Crouch, but the Swans were dominant after the break.
Chico Flores headed Swansea's equaliser early in the second period, but neither team was able to find a winner.
Find out how all of the action unfolded with our minute-by-minute text commentary below.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text coverage of the Premier League clash between Stoke City and Swansea City. Let's hope the weather holds up this evening, as we've already seen one top-flight match fall afoul of the wet and windy conditions up and down the country.
That postponed match is of course Manchester City's showdown with Sunderland. You can read all about that here.
Back to tonight's game, which is a potentially vital fixture for both parties, as neither can say for certain that they won't be pulled into a relegation scrap given how tight it is in the bottom half of the table.
Team news coming up...
STOKE: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters; Odemwingie, Adam, Whelan, Arnautovic; Walters, Crouch
BREAKING NEWS: Tonight's kickoff has been moved to 8pm due to heavy traffic around the Britannia Stadium.
Confirmation of the delayed kickoff comes via Swansea's official Twitter account:
We can confirm that tonight's game is expected to go ahead. There was a second pitch inspection just moments ago, and the MET office is forecasting that winds will soon begin to decrease.
SWANSEA: Vorm, Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies, Britton, Canas, Dyer, Hernandez, Routledge, Bony
Stoke favouring a 4-4-2 formation with Peter Crouch as the target man. They welcome back Marko Arnautovic and Marc Wilson, who have recovered from injury and illness, respectively.
The big news from Swansea's point of view is that head coach Garry Monk has deemed Michu unfit to make his long-waited comeback from injury. How they have missed him! They are also without the injured Jonjo Shelvey, who always makes his presence felt in midfield.
This is a big match for both teams, with Swansea heading into the match in 12th place in the table, and Stoke are just one point behind them in 14th. A win for either team could see them move above West Ham in 10th, while a defeat would have them glancing nervously over their shoulders.
These two have every reason to be positive going into this one. Stoke have defeated Manchester United (which is no longer the feat it once was, admittedly) and drawn with Southampton in their last two matches, while Swansea thrashed their Welsh rivals Cardiff City 3-0.
Swansea and Stoke were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Liberty Stadium back in November, in which Charlie Adam bagged an equaliser for the Potters from the penalty spot with virtually the last kick of the ball.
But I would say that Stoke are the favourites this evening, based on recent history and the form guide. Mark Hughes's side have lost just one of their last nine at home, and Swansea have failed to defeat them in their last five attempts.
The Swans don't travel particularly well, failing to win in their last six away trips. They haven't won back-to-back league matches since late 2012 either.
PREDICTION: With these stats in mind, I think that Stoke are going to edge this one 2-1. I'm backing Peter Crouch and Charlie Adam to find the net for them, with Wilfried Bony bagging the Swans' consolation.
Bony has been Swansea's biggest goal threat in the absence of Michu, but he isn't exactly prolific on the road. All eight of his league goals this season have come at the Liberty Stadium.
Although I've already put my money on Stoke, I wouldn't bet against Bony ending his away day drought this evening considering Stoke haven't kept a clean sheet in their last nine attempts.
Some pre-match quotes coming up...
Mark Hughes: "The scenario at Swansea reminds of the situation I was in a little bit when I got the Wales job a number of years ago. I sensed then that the lads wanted me to get the job, and from the outside that seems to be exactly the same with Garry at Swansea. He seems to have that relationship with the players which is key, and I think you could see that they all wanted to do well for him in their win at Cardiff on Saturday night."
Ex-Swansea player Wyndham Evans: "The Swans will need to impose themselves on the game, first and foremost, and I think Garry will have hammered that message home in the build-up to this game. I think they will manage to do that, and I can see the Swans getting a positive result from the Britannia."
Ben Davies: "Garry's come in and given the players a lift. Everyone can see the passion he's got and he really showed that on the pitch at the weekend. He didn't need to say much being the club legend that he is. All the players here realise what a good player he's been in the past and he still is now. He put that through in training and the way he was talking to the players. But we have to build on that and push on against Stoke."
So the general consensus is that Gary Monk's appointment has had an overwhelmingly positive impact on Swansea. Will this reflect out there on the pitch tonight?
Two games have been called off in the Premier League this evening, with Manchester City vs Sunderland and Everton vs Crystal Palace falling afoul of the weather.
Tonight's game at the Britannia, as well as Newcastle vs Spurs, Arsenal vs Manchester United and Fulham vs Liverpool will all go ahead as planned.
The two teams are out there on the pitch now on a blustery night in Stoke. You have to feel for goalkeepers on nights like thins. I wonder if Begovic fancies his chances of getting his name on the scoresheet again?
KICKOFF: Stoke get the match under way and immediately give the ball away. Swansea gain possession and attempt to push forward, but the Potters quickly win it back.
Swansea win the first corner of the evening as Erik Pieters hacks the ball behind. Asmir Begovic confidently claims the resultant cross, but the Swans soon regain possession and Nathan Dyer swings a cross over the Stoke area, although nobody was there to connect with it.
Wayne Routledge sails in a cross from the left, looking for Wilfried Bony in the area, but Ryan Shawcross does well do intercept and clear his lines.
Swansea have started confidently, forcing Stoke into the back foot straight away. The Potters have just threatened at the other end with Glenn Whelan looking for the head of Peter Crouch in the danger zone, but Michel Vorm got to it first.
SHOT! Stoke have their first attempt on target as Charlie Adam gains possession from just outside the area and goes for the bottom corner. Michel Vorm makes a comfortable save at his near post.
Poor play from Peter Odemwingie gifts Swansea a thrown in near the middle of the park. The Nigerian international was on a different wavelength to Geoff Cameron there, allowing the ball to drift out of play.
We could be in for a scrappy contest this evening. Charlie Adam and Wayne Routledge have just been involved in a tussle there, the slippery conditions not helping matters.
GOAL! Stoke City 1-0 Swansea City (Peter Crouch)
Peter Odemwingie gains possession inside the area following a swift break. His effort rebounds off the upright, but Peter Crouch is there to scramble home the rebound. His remarkable strike rate against Swansea continues!
CHANCE! Marko Arnautovic goes on a mazy run, dancing past two Stoke defenders before unleashing a thunderbolt that stung the palms of Vorm. Great build-up play from the Stoke man and an equally impressive save!
Swansea attempt to apply some pressure of their own as Nathan Dyer cuts inside the area and sails a cross into the back post, but once again there is nobody to latch onto his searching ball.
Another Swansea attack breaks down as Wilfried Bony attempts to give his marker the slip in the final third but goes to ground, slipping on the sodden turf.
CHANCE! The Swans' best chance so far goes begging as Wayne Routledge plays in a cross from the right. It goes over the head of Bony and almost falls kindly for Canas in front of goal, but he connects poorly and puts it over the crossbar.
SHOT! Jonathan Walters bears down on goal after Chico Flores fails to clear his lines. The Stoke man goes for goal, but his effort is parried by Vorm. Swansea scramble the ball clear at the second time of asking.
Pablo Hernandez threads a measured pass through to Wayne Routledge, but the move breaks down as the linesman's flag goes up. Great vision from the Spaniard, but his teammate's run was mistimed.
BOOKINGS! Charlie Adams and Ashley Williams are both booked following a tussle off the ball. Nathan Dyer also got involved as both sets of players were involved in handbags, but Dyer escapes a yellow card.
SHOT! Nathan Dyer is given acres of space along the right channel as the Stoke defenders back off. He lets fly from just outside of the area, but his effort flies wide of the far post. Begovic isn't happy with his defenders, and understandably so.
Words are exchanged between Williams and Adam after the two collide. Tensions dangerously close to boiling over here.
Pablo Hernandez sends an in-swinging corner towards the centre of goal, but Begovic punches clear and Stoke start to break. The ball eventually finds its way into the arms of Vorm after Jonathan Walters swings a cross into the area.
There will be two minutes of stoppage time in the first half.
HALF TIME: Stoke City 1-0 Swansea City
Peter Crouch's goal is the difference between Stoke City and Swansea City at the halfway point of this encounter. Mark Hughes will be pleased with his side's first half display, but he might want to have a word with the hotheaded Charlie Adam, who is unlikely to remain on the pitch for much longer unless he cools down.
Stoke deserve their lead having created the better chances, but Swansea certainly look capable of clawing their way back into this. It's been a close game with everything to play for in the second period.
These were the scenes after Crouch broke the deadlock in the 17th minute:
There are several other matches going on in the Premier League right now. Arsenal and Manchester United are tied at 0-0, Fulham vs Liverpool is 1-1, and Spurs are leading Newcastle by a goal to nil at St James' Park.
Make that Spurs are leading Newcastle 2-0 as Paulinho has just added a second. That match is now in the second half having started on time.
If you've just joined us, you can catch up on all of the highlights so far with our half-time report here.
KICKOFF: Swansea get the match under way and go straight on the attack. Jose Canas scuffs a shot, but Wilfried Bony goes in for a follow-up diving header and almost connects with the ball. Asmir Begovic makes an easy catch.
CHANCE! Wasteful play from Bony as the striker exchanges passes with Routledge before going for goal himself off balance, when he should have squared it to Williams, who was in space. The Ivorian puts the ball into the stand!
Swansea have started the second half positively and are seeing plenty of the ball at the moment. Dyer plays in a cross from the right, from which Routledge wins a corner.
GOAL! Stoke City 1-1 Swansea City (Chico Flores)
Swansea draw themselves level following a corner from Pablo Hernandez. His initial cross was headed clear, but the ball ended up back at his feet, allowing him to play another lofted pass in the box. Chico Flores met it with a excellent header and guided it into the corner!
The Swans don't look content with just the one. Pablo Hernandez has just made a nuisance of himself along the right flank, but his low pass into the area is hacked clear.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Stoke have made a double change, bringing on Oussama Assaidi and Steven N'Zonzi for Marko Arnautovic and Jonathan Walters.
CHANCE! Charlie Adam plays a measured cross into the Swansea area directly from a free kick. It was a superb delivery, but it somehow eluded both Steven Nzonzi and Ryan Shawcross.
That Adam cross was really the first threat to the Swansea goal in this second period. The visitors have been dominant since the restart, and look the more likely of the two teams to find a winner.
SUBSTITUTION: Glenn Whelan makes way for John Guidetti as Stoke make their third and final change. Mark Hughes has thrown on a striker in a bid to go all out for the win.
BOOKING! Leon Britton lunges at Charlie Adam and concedes a free kick in a dangerous position, earning a yellow card for his efforts. Adam steps up to take the free kick himself and puts it over the crossbar by a considerable margin.
SUBSTITUTION: Pablo Hernandez makes way for Jonathan De Guzman. The former had a good game this evening, and was no doubt taken off due to fitness concerns having recently returned from injury.
OFF THE LINE! Tremendous defending from Ryan Shawcross prevents Stoke from falling behind! Nathan Dyer lays the ball on a plate for Wilfried Bony in front of goal, who takes his time before pulling the trigger, but Shawcross was on hand to hack his shot clear on the line after Begovic got a touch himself!
Swansea have had the better of the attacking possession in this second period. Stoke's best goalscoring opportunities since the break have come from set pieces, but Adam has just squandered one of those by playing a cross straight into the arms of Vorm.
SUBSTITUTION: Swansea make another change, throwing on Marvin Emnes for Nathan Dyer. This is an attacking change that underlines their desire to take three points here.
SHOT! Asmir Begovic pulls off a good save to deny Jonathan De Guzman from 25 yards out. The midfielder's effort came out of the blue and was heading straight for the top corner!
BOOKING! Peter Crouch is booked for protesting after being denied a penalty! The big striker goes down in the area under pressure from Ashley Williams and isn't happy when the referee waves away his protests. For the record, I think he tripped there.
Four minutes of stoppage time to be played.
FULL TIME: Stoke City 1-1 Swansea City
The full-time whistle blows, bringing to an end a close contest at the Britannia Stadium. Swansea had the better of the possession in the second half, but both sides had chances to win it.
Wilfried Bony should have fired Swansea in front late on, and Peter Crouch felt he should have had a penalty after that, but a draw is just about a fair reflection of the match.
That's all we've got time for at the Britannia Stadium, but stick with Sports Mole for analysis and fallout from all of this evening's games. Thanks for reading!
