Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has insisted that his side can take positives from their clash against Arsenal in the Premier league despite their defeat.
The Potters conceded three times as they succumbed to a 3-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
"It was a shame how we conceded the goals," Begovic told reporters. "I thought we were in the game for the whole time, but if you give a team like Arsenal any kind of break whether it is in open play or at a set piece they will take advantage.
"You never know what to expect from [Mesut] Ozil's deliveries. He can swing it each and every way so it's difficult to predict how it's coming in. When you come up against a player like that it's a big test for us. Different games bring different challenges and we didn't stand up to it. I think we coped in general pretty well though. They had a few chances, but perhaps that's always to be expected when you go to the Emirates.
"We picked ourselves up after going behind early on, we've got some good characters in the team and we came out with some good energy in the second half. We played some good stuff, but we made mistakes and got punished. It was disappointing, but we will learn from our mistakes and try to get better this week."
Stoke travel to Tranmere Rovers in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.
