Stoke City assistant boss Mark Bowen says that Swansea City manager Garry Monk is "totally out of order" for describing Victor Moses as a cheat.

Stoke City assistant boss Mark Bowen believes that Swansea City manager Garry Monk is "out of order" for labelling Victor Moses a cheat.

Monk slammed Moses for winning a penalty for the Potters on Sunday by going to ground following minimal contact from Angel Rangel.

The 35-year-old also risked receiving punishment from the Football Association by claiming that referee Michael Oliver made a "disgusting decision" to award the penalty.

Swansea took the lead at the Britannia Stadium with a first-half penalty from Wilfried Bony, but eventually suffered a 2-1 loss.

"To call a player a cheat is totally out of order because there was contact there," Bowen told Radio Wales.

"Is Moses trying to make the best of a situation? Yes. Was it harsh on Swansea? Yes. Was the decision a poor one? Possibly yes.

"My definition of cheating is if a player goes into the area and he's not touched, if there's no contact and he goes down he's a cheat."

Moses joined Stoke on loan from Chelsea in the summer.
