Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been charged with improper conduct after he was sent to the stands during Saturday's match with Tottenham Hotspur.
During the first half of the game at the Britannia Stadium, the assistant referee was unhappy with Hughes's behaviour on the touchline and it resulted in the Welshman being ordered away from the dugout by the referee.
After speaking with the officials of last weekend's contest, the Football Association has opted to charge Hughes with improper conduct, with the 52-year-old being given until 6pm on Friday, September 16 to respond to the punishment.
Stoke went on to lose the game by a 4-0 scoreline.
