Tony Pulis wants Stoke City stay

Tony Pulis says that he will discuss his future with Stoke City chairman Peter Coates at the end of the season, but sees no reason why he will not be asked to carry on as manager.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is confident that he will be in charge of the club next season despite their stuttered campaign this year.

Victory at Sunderland tonight will all but guarantee the Potters their survival in the Premier League, but there have been some voices of discontent around the Britannia Stadium recently.

The Welshman said that he will sit down with chairman Peter Coates to assess the situation at the end of the season, but believes that the club is heading in the right direction.

"I will sit down with Peter and have a good chat with him in respect of what I think has gone on," Sky Sports News quotes 55-year-old as saying. "There are certain aspects that you think you could have dealt with better.

"That's for me to discuss with the powers that be and to learn from one or two mistakes. There is an enormous amount going on, the club is developing. I'd like to be given the opportunity to do that.

"I hope the club's ambitions match my own. I can't stop people talking and the mischief - but there has been nothing from the club that suggests anything other than I want to continue here - and they are happy for me to do so."

Pulis, who is enjoying his second spell in charge of Stoke, rejoined the club in 2006.
