Stoke City have fallen to a 2-0 defeat in their friendly encounter with Houston Dynamo at the BBVA Compass Stadium.
The home side nearly took the lead as early as the second minute when Cam Weaver chested Mike Chabala's cross into the path of Andrew Driver, but the former Hearts man blasted wide of the mark.
The 25-year-old did hit the target eight minutes later, though, curling a left-footed free kick into the bottom corner after Ricardo Clark had been sent tumbling 25 yards from goal.
Potters boss Mark Hughes made a few changes during the half-time break, with Jack Butland, Greg Whelan, Marc Wilson, Wilson Palacios and Kenwyne Jones entering the fray.
However, it was not enough to turn around the deficit, which was made larger two minutes from time when former Derby County youngster Giles Barnes dribbled his way into the box before sliding past Asmir Begovic.
