Stoke City have continued their pre-season preparations with a 2-0 win over Philadelphia Union at PPL Park.
The Potters took the lead in the fourth minute when Marc Muniesa lifted a cross into the penalty area from the left, and Michael Kightly met the ball first time on the volley and powered his effort into the net.
Mark Hughes's side doubled their lead minutes later when Kightly turned provider as he set Brek Shea through on goal, and the midfielder slotted the ball into the net with a neat finish.
The second half was played largely at an exhibition tempo with the Potters dominating possession in the Union half.
However, their territorial advantage failed to result in much meaningful goalmouth action, with Charlie Adam's rising shot the closest the visitors came to troubling their opponents' goal after 75 minutes.
Stoke begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Liverpool on August 17.
