Stoke City have stretched their unbeaten Premier League run to five matches with a narrow 1-0 victory over Hull City this afternoon.
The visitors came close to opening the scoring early on when Tom Huddlestone fired in a low strike from long range that Asmir Begovic had to push behind.
They had another chance minutes later as Shane Long picked out Liam Rosenior in the box, but the defender put his header over the bar.
At the start of the second half Peter Odemwingie came close to finding the net, but he saw his low strike saved by Steve Harper.
Hull had a chance of their own soon after as David Meyler forced Begovic into a save from his deflected strike, before Nikica Jelavic put the rebound wide.
In the 62nd minute Stoke broke the deadlock through Odemwingie, who latched onto Ahmed Elmohamady's misplaced pass before racing through on goal and drilling a strike past Harper.
Stephen Ireland came close to extending their lead, but his powerful shot was pushed over the bar by the keeper.
The Tigers pushed for an equaliser but could not find a way past their opponents, as they fell to a fourth defeat from their last five matches.
