Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has said that he is still "hopeful" of signing Saido Berahino from West Bromwich Albion this summer.
Berahino is widely expected to leave The Hawthorns having been kept at the club against his will last year when the Baggies rejected a number of bids from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 22-year-old has rejected a new four-year deal at the club, and despite seeing previous offers turned down, Hughes remains optimistic over Stoke's chances of signing the striker.
"He's a player at another club so I don't really want to comment too much, but it's fair to say we've put bids in," Hughes told Sky Sports News.
"As we stand, those haven't been accepted yet, but we're still hopeful on that one."
Reports earlier today suggested that the Potters had made an improved bid of £20m for Berahino.
