Leicester City have reportedly made an approach to Stoke City for striker Jonathan Walters, who is believed to have submitted a transfer request.
The Republic of Ireland international is thought to have asked to leave the Potters yesterday in a bid to force through a move to Norwich City, who have been linked with the forward.
However, Sky Sports News reports that Claudio Ranieri's side are keen to beat the Canaries to Walters' signature, contacting Stoke over a potential deal.
It is expected that Stoke will only allow Walters to leave if they can bring in a replacement before this evening's deadline.
Walters scored 11 goals in 37 appearances for Stoke last season.
