Stoke City have rejected an offer from Marseille for striker Peter Odemwingie.
Reports surfaced earlier today that the Ligue 1 outfit could look to sign the 34-year-old on loan until the end of the season.
However, Hughes has confirmed that Odemwingie turned down a potential move away from the Britannia, although his situation could change if Stoke complete their proposed club-record signing of Giannelli Imbula.
"There was an interest from a club in Odemwingie, but he didn't think it was right for him," Hughes is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"If we are able to get Imbula over the line we may look at some opportunities if we feel we can allow people to go, but we won't know until later."
Odemwingie has made just one Premier League start for the Potters in the last two seasons.
