Martin Grehan hit a hat-trick as Stranraer thrashed Ayr United 4-0 at Stair Park in Scotland's League One this afternoon.
The 29-year-old fired the hosts into the lead on 13 minutes, before completing his brace from the penalty spot shortly after the half-hour mark to provide Stephen Aitken's men with a healthy 2-0 half-time advantage.
Less than two minutes into the second half Grehan grabbed his third of the afternoon with a left-footed effort to secure the points and the match ball.
United quickly found themselves with a four-goal deficit, with Andrew Stirling getting his name on the scoresheet on 49 minutes to compound the misery for Mark Roberts's troops.
Stirling's contribution proved to be the last act in the mauling as the hosts remain third in Scotland's third tier, five points adrift of second-placed Dunfermline Athletic.
