Sunderland forward Fabio Borini believes that another run in a cup competition could help his side's push for survival in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old scored the opener in the Black Cats' League Cup final defeat to Manchester City, but feels that Gus Poyet's team could benefit from a similar run in the FA Cup when they take on Hull City in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
"Winning games gives you confidence, so winning in the cup will help give us confidence in the league," he told the club's official website.
"We showed that in January when we were very busy with the cup and some big games yet got positive results in the league."
Sunderland are currently 18th in the Premier League.
