Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson has reportedly been ruled out of the team's hectic Premier League schedule over the Christmas period.
The Sweden international was not included in the squad that suffered a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend due to a knee injury.
The 30-year-old was sent to Barcelona last week to see a specialist on a medial ligament problem, and according to the Sunderland Echo, Larsson is expected to be out of action for one month.
The Black Cats are currently second from bottom in the Premier League table, one point adrift of safety after 15 games.
