Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell is reportedly expected to be fit for this weekend's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace after missing the Wear-Tyne derby.
The 24-year-old was ruled out of the Black Cats' 1-0 win over fierce rivals Newcastle United due to a hamstring problem.
However, according to the Sunderland Echo, Rodwell is not expected to be out of action for long and has a realistic chance of making the squad for Saturday's game at the Stadium of Light.
The North-East outfit are three points above the relegation zone.
