Sunderland defender Marcos Alonso has spoken of his disappointment with his side's 2-0 defeat against Hull City.
The Black Cats lost for the first time in four games and were forced to play with 10 men for the majority of the encounter after Wes Brown's early red card.
"Today was a tough day. It's never easy to play with a man down," he told the club's official website.
"I said last week after the win at Newcastle that we had to keep going, and it's the same today. We need to keep on and try to get something from the next couple of games.
"It will be a difficult game – Manchester City have been outstanding this year, but we've shown we can play against the big teams. We'll work hard over the next two or three games to get ready and be at 100% for that game."
Sunderland are currently 17th in the Premier League table.
