Paolo Di Canio has been installed as the new favourite by the majority of bookmakers to be appointed the new manager of Sunderland.
The Black Cats are in the market for a boss after the board took the decision to part company with Martin O'Neill last night.
A number of managers have been linked with the vacancy, including Niall Quinn, Brian McDermott, Dick Advocaat and Steve McClaren.
However, this afternoon the betting markets have seen a flurry of money being placed on Di Canio, who has been made the 4/7 favourite as a result.
The 44-year-old has been out of work since he left League One side Swindon Town in February.
