Sunderland midfielder Jordi Gomez has admitted that he and his teammates were relieved to secure a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace to get their season back on track.
A brace from Steven Fletcher and a strike from Gomez himself fired Gus Poyet's men to the three points at Selhurst Park, after the Black Cats had lost consecutive matches in the top flight.
He told the club's official website: "It's a very good result for us. It was much needed and it's an important three points on the board.
"I'm very happy to get my goal but more so with the team performance and final result."
The Black Cats are 15th in the Premier League following their win over the Eagles.
