New Sunderland signing David Moberg Karlsson has hailed the supporters who made the trip to Hong Kong to watch the Black Cats in action over recent days.
A large number of fans made the trip to the Far East to watch Paolo Di Canio's side contest the Barclay Asia Trophy, where they reached the final before being defeated 1-0 by Manchester City.
"I think it's great that so many Sunderland fans came out to Hong Kong." he told the club's official website. It's a long trip and they've done very well.
"I could hear the fans throughout the game, they were really loud when we were warming up in the corner. They were in fine voice and they are a credit to the club."
Karlsson joined the Wearsiders earlier this summer from IFK Goteborg.
